1. You've got a date this weekend, but are low on money. You decide to try to borrow some money from your brother.
2. You want to get an exotic pet, such as a snake or a very cool-looking reptile, but your mother isn't sure she wants something like that around.
3. Your best friend offers to trade you a pair of her new jeans for a sweater that you got for your birthday. Your sweater cost a lot more than the jeans, but you don't really like the sweater.
4. You ask your neighbor if you can borrow his pickup truck to haul some trees for landscaping your yard. Your neighbor has offered to let you borrow it before, but has never taken any gas money from you.
5. You want to go to college, but you don't have the money, so you might end up working for a year or two. Then you find out that you have a rich grandmother who always wanted a dentist in the family.
6. You want to get your nose pierced, but your parents both object to this. They also objected to your dyeing your hair purple and getting a tattoo. They are so unreasonable! What can you do?
7. The teacher requires an oral report as a requirement for biology class. You get really nervous when you have to speak in front of a group, and wonder if you could do something else instead.
8. The track coach says that practice is going to be seven days a week—including Sunday. You and your family always go to church on Sunday, and you work a part-time job in the afternoon. It seems that time is going to be a problem.
