3.2. Initial profiles of pectinase production and fungal growth byscouring pad immobilized cells
The Aspergillus species is well known fungus for production of extracellular enzymes in commercial sector, including pecti-nases. According to Banu et al. [24] a challenge for this area isthe production of enzymes with low production cost and desirable characteristics. Therefore, in this study the pectinase production by immobilized cells of A. niger HFD5A-1 on nylon scouring pad cube was carried out using medium compositions and culture conditions of free cells with the purpose to enhance the enzyme yield.
