Drowned boy, Alan Kurdi, buried in Syria with family
4 September 2015
The bodies of drowned Syrian boy Alan Kurdi and members of his family have been buried in Kobane in Syria after being transported there from Turkey.
Three-year-old Alan, his brother Galip, five, and his mother Rehan died trying to reach the Greek island of Kos.
Alan's father Abdullah, who was with them when they drowned, crossed into Kurdish-controlled Kobane with the coffins.
David Cameron says he was deeply moved by the pictures of a three-year-old Syrian boy found drowned on a beach in Turkey.
Alan Kurdi, his five-year-old brother Galip and mother Rehan were among 12 Syrians who died after two boats capsized soon after setting off for Kos.
The Prime Minister responded to criticism that Britain was not doing enough to help refugees, and said that Britain would fulfil its moral responsibilities.
