The studies on the interaction between electromagnetic fields
and biological subjects have included the influence of both lowand
high-frequency electromagnetic fields on proliferation and
differentiation of cells, in vitro, and the cyto- and geno-toxic
effects. The program also supported several dosimetric studies,
namely, the development of a small sensor for the measurement of
electromagnetic fields inside phantom models, and the development
of a model of female anatomy. Studies on mechanisms that
could underlie biological interactions formed another part of the
program.
