2005). Several abietane derivatives, phenylethanoid glycosides
and cyclohexyl ethanoids, have been reported from its roots (Kim
et al., 2010; Liu et al., 2008, 2009), yet the biologicaly active ingredients
are still unclear. As a part of an ongoing search for bioactive
phenylethanoid glycosides (Geng et al., 2010a,b) and diterpenoids
(Liu et al., 2010; Xu and Wang, 2011), the present paper dealt with
isolation and structural identification of abietane derivatives and
phenylethanoid glycosides from C. bungei roots, with selected
compounds evaluated for inhibitory effects against ACE and
a-glucosidase.
