mountain in a bright blue sky. jack started me out on an easy boulder just outside of town. first,he pointed out small handholds and footholds in the craggy rock, pieces that jutted out less than an inch. then jack scrambled up the boulder, following a path he considered easy. At the top, jack stuck a quickdraw (a small piece of metal with a looped end) into a tiny fissure in the rock. he laced the loop through a carabiner.he hung the belay rope before scrambling down again.
