Conclusions and recommendations
In this study, we identified 14 competencies that define the scope of expertise required by successful MAMP managers. Some of these competencies, such as those labeled “competitive strategies”, “project management”, “transformational leadership”, and “assertive leadership management”, might be relevant for any managerial position. Others, however, such as “foundational systems”, “materials management”, and “diagnostic efficiency”, incorporate competencies specifically within an MAMP context. It is within the knowledge and skill classifications that most of the competencies specific to MAMP seemed to emerge. Competencies relating to a manager's attitudes or values (credibility, assertive leadership, collaborative and responsiveness management) appear to be more universal across managerial domains.
