Routine physical examinations were done with no abnormalities noted. Neither fracture nor swelling of all limbs were noticed. Gait assessment revealed non-ambulatory paraparesis. When assisted, she was able to walk several short choppy steps in all four limbs before collapsing in the pelvic limbs, followed shortly thereafter by laying down on the sternum. After resting, she could repeat the same motion; however, if she was asked to ambulate immediately after collapsing, she was unable to rise. Other neurological examinations, including mentation, proprioceptive response, withdrawal reflex, and cranial nerve assessments, appeared normal.
