2.4. Lipolytic activity
For isolation of the lipase producing microorganisms, 1.0 g of
soil sample was dissolved in 100 ml of distilled water. It was then
serially diluted and 0.5 ml was plated on sterile tributyrin agar
media containing peptone (5 g), beef extract (3 g), tributyrin
(10 ml), agar–agar (20 g) and distilled water (1 lt). The formation
of clear zone of hydrolysis around the colony on the plate
indicated lipolytic microbes. Pure culture of these organisms was
obtained by repeated streaking (Licia et al. 2006).
