As we presented earlier, qualitative studies require several sources of data in order to better understand the usability problems of the user. Typically, video is recorded
in order to get the view of what the user is doing and what is the context of use. Audio is recorded, primarily to listen to the user suggestions and feelings during thinking aloud technique and secondarily to get sound of the surrounding environment. In the mobile environment the audio/video recording can come from multiple sources,
e.g. user eye view, cameras spread in the testing environment or mobile device screen recording. We must also count with the fact that quality of video recording can
be influenced by external forces, like position and fixing of the camera on the user or on the mobile device or user movements. Therefore audio/video is not the only source of data for usability analysis of mobile application. Usually, we also record internal information from the tested application in form of log file. There may be several log files generated during single session of the usability test, which come from the application itself or from the infrastructure used in the usability study.
These requirements conclude that our tool should be able to process multiple data sources.
