Through documented evidence, the division demonstrates that minimum qualifications of OHS training providers have been specified and documented for each training course. Training providers provide the division documentation to demonstrate that (documentation can include an experience sheet, resume, continuing education course certificate, accredited or other certificate adhering to accredited standards, licensing, registration etc...):
- training providers have a suitable level of knowledge, skills or abilities in the subjects they deliver,
- training providers are competent in delivery techniques and methods appropriate to adult learning,
- training providers maintain their training skills by participating in continuing education or development programs through experience related to the subject matter (specific trainer education may be prescribed in some jurisdictions).
Regulatory requirements, if any, have been identified with regards to trainer's competency and any regulated traininer-to-trainee ratios appropriate for the specified subject matter.
Note: knowledge, skills, abilities and competency can be gained through a combination of training, education and experience.
