In this regard, little empirical evidence is available regar
ding the influence of organizational
learning on strategic planning capacity, when broadening our underst
anding in this research
domain is important (Goldman, 2002; Crossan and Berdrow, 2003). Identifyin
g,
comprehending and empirical testing the influence of this facto
r on strategic planning
capacity can help organizations decide on how to alter it in order
to enhance their strategic
planning capacity (Beer et al., 2005). A research effort in this
direction is too necessary to lay
the foundation of a systematic development of a theory of strateg
ic planning capacity
(Weerawardena et al., 2006). This lack of theory development has l
ed researchers such
Menon et al. (1999) and Crossan and Berdrow (2003) to accentuate the nec
essity for studies
in this area.
