1. Select the hand holds of the pipette.
2. Draw a small amount of liquid solution into the pipette.
3. Wet the interior surface of the glass by tilting and rotating the pipet.
4. Remove the pipet from the volumetric flask and tilt it until liquid is drawn slightly up into pipet and wipe the tip with a lintless tissue as shown.
5. Draw the solution into the pipet.
6. Allow the liquid level to descend until the bottom of the meniscus in aligned with the line etched on the stem of the pipet.
7. Tilt the Volumetric Flask slightly.
8. Holding the pipet vertically, allow the liquid to flow into the receiving Volumetric Flask until just a small amount of liquid remains in the inside of the tip.
9. Dilution is then put the distilled water into the volumetric Flask equal to the volume, 100 ml.
