Datacenter Demand Response (DDR): DDR has as main objective to equalize the datacenter consumption, B(t), that depends on the IT load and environmental conditions [3], with the limited capacity offered by a DG system, P(t) or reduce costs if real time pricing is available. The
DDR can minimize the use of grid energy in the
network of the datacenters by applying task
migration and task allocation strategies among
the interconnected datacenters (Fig. 3), in a
“Follow the sun” allocation scheme [3]. For the
case where the datacenter falls within the administrative domain of a power grid controller connected to a DG, the DDR mechanism can be
applied to relieve smart grid residential users of
DR commands.
