Recently, alternative methods involving complete or partial
solubilization of the matrix have been presented and were
considered in this work. Slurry preparation of the sample is a
particularly attractive technique, since it combines the advan-
tage of solid sampling with the use of aqueous standards for
calibration curves. Additionally, slurry preparation presents low
susceptibility to contamination, due to less sample manipulation
and use of fewer reagents and smaller amounts of reagents.
However, the stabilization of this medium is a very important
point and factors such as homogeneity, sedimentation and
particle size must be considered. Another point to be considered
in these cases is the instrumental operating conditions, which
must be adequate for sample nebulization and to atomize the
analytes with adequate precision and accuracy
