4.7. Interferences studies
In order to evaluate the selectivity of the new method for
phosphate, influence of select metal ions, sulfate and chloride
were examined over a range of their concentrations but for fixed,
5gml−1of phosphate solutions. The results obtained are given
in Table 5 and are indicating that all the ions except copper, iron
and vanadium are not interfering in the determination of phosphate.
Copper(II), iron(III) and vanadium(V) could also be tolerated
respectively up to 7, 4, and 2.5gml−1 for the effective determination
of phosphate.
