Restrictions on Investments and Financial Transactions
Most U.S. sanctions prohibit U.S. persons or persons subject to U.S. jurisdiction from
engaging, directly or indirectly, in any commercial dealings involving sanctioned countries,
their governments, and in some cases their nationals. These prohibitions generally extend
to the provision of financial services by U.S. person banks to sanctioned countries or in
connection with any commercial transaction involving a sanctioned country, its
government, or in some cases its nationals.
