WELCOME TO KINDERGARTEN!
Kindergarten is a special place. It is a place where children and their families come together in a shared learning environment. This is why we have created a vibrant yet versatile space and a curriculum to stimulate, engage and empower not only the children but also the community at large. To attain this, we use the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework and the Danish curriculum to create an innovative learning experience. ISB is staffed by fully qualified educators who are caring and passionate about our programme, and who strive for the best for every child. To celebrate the uniqueness of each individual child, we offer a low adult–student ration of 1:10.
HOW WILL WE LEARN?
The Kindergarten experience begins with a gentle settling in period where both the children and families acquaint themselves with the school and the environment. In the first year of kindergarten, children will be exposed to 2 Units of Inquiry. In their second year, they will explore 4 Units and in their final year of kindergarten, children will engage in 6 Units. Families and the community play a very important part in making these units successful.
WHEN WILL WE LEARN?
Kindergarten is open from 6.30 to 17.00 (16:00 on Fridays). The Breakfast Club ends at 8.00 and the children will then move into their respective groups where they will engage in both indoors and outdoors activities. The flow of the day may vary from class to class depending on the unit of inquiry. However, we will all break for lunch together. There will be time after the break where the classes will gather together and reflect on the day’s experience(s) before they head off for the various Extra Curricular Activities in the After-School Club.
