The total diesel oil degradation efficiency of the isolate was
estimated gravimetrically. The biodegradation percentage was only
5% after incubation for the first three days and thereafter increased
linearly until reaching a maximum value (about 53%) after 15 days
of incubation and then remained nearly constant. The lost of diesel
in control was less than 2%. These results indicate that diesel was
used by the bacterium, since the bacterial growth increased from
3.6 104 to 2.64 105 CFU/mL (Fig. 5)
