Reports on the seasonal variation in quality of buffalo
semen are available (1, 2). Sengupta et al. (3) and Tomer
-e t _a.l (4) have reported that buffalo spermatozoa are more
resrstant to cold shock in winter as compared to summer season
However, there appears to be no report comparing the freezability
of buffalo semen in summer and winter season. The
present investigation was undertaken to study the freezabiiity
of buffalo semen during summer (May to August) and winter
(December to March) in order to see whether the freezing of
buffalo semen can be continued in both seasons.
