In this study the lowest temperature was above 23.6 °C, and the
mean was 27 °C. Temperature remained within the recommended
range for the best growth and survival of these species juveniles
(Ponce-Palafox et al., 1997). Ponce-Palafox et al. (1997) obtained
the best survival and growth of L. vannamei juveniles at salinities between
33 and 40‰. The mean salinity in this experiment was of
33.5‰, which is within the ideal range. According to Van Wyk and
Scarpa (1999), dissolved oxygen concentration should be higher
than 5.0 mg/L, in this study, although the values were slightly below
the recommended range.
