Storms Halvor Solber, whose theories on storm development are world famous, came from Scandinavia. Solberg, who was Norwegian, was the first person to realize that different kinds of weather are related. In 1920, he noticed that many storms moved around the earth along a line when separated hot and cold air. He pointed out that there is the possibility of a great storm which the hot and cold air meet. Such storms tend to occur where there are areas of low-lying land next to the ocean.
