The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission has just announced that AIS made the highest bid at 40,986 billion baht, followed by the second winner TRUE Corporation at 39,792 billion baht.

AIS and True have won the two 4G licences in a 30-hour auction that ended at 7pm on Thursday, bringing in 80.78 billion baht in state revenue.
True Move H Universal Communication Co Ltd, a subsidiary of True Corporation, won the first licence at 39.79 billion baht.
Advanced Wireless Network Co Ltd, a unit of Advanced Info Service (AIS), offered 40.99 billion baht for the second licence.
The prices were 150% above the reserve price for the first licence and 158% for the second licence.
In terms of the estimated real spectrum value, the first licence was 200% higher while the second was 206% more.

Thai PBS, reporting from NBTC headquarters, says the auction has just officially ended. The winners of the two licenses are not yet known, but officials say that should be clear within hours.

Telecom shares sag as sky-high 4G bidding continues
The auction for two 4G licences continued Thursday, more than a day after biddingopened.
As of 11am Thursday, total bids for the two licences stood at over 74 billion baht in 74 rounds of fierce bidding by four mobile operators.. The per-licence bids stood at 37.006 billion baht and 37.404 billion baht.
The bids were more than double the estimated value of the bandwidth, according todata from the regulator. The base price for each licence was of 15.91 billion baht.
Shares in Thai telecom firms fell on concerns that the licences may be overpriced.
As of 11.18am, Advanced Information Systems shares on the Stock Exchange of Thailand stood at 217 baht, down 4%. True Corp. was 9.55 baht, down 4.5%; Total Access Communications (DTAC) at 58.75 baht, down 3.7%; and Jasmine Internet at 5.25 baht, down 4.6%.
The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission planned a three-hour break in the auction after the 74th round of bidding.
