Cambodia rejoined the international community realizing it membership in the "Asean 10". Following a long period of strife on the Indochina Peninsula and civil war, a new government was finally established in Cambodia through a general election in 1993. After its second general election in 1998, Cambodia resumed its membership in the United Nations in December of the same year. In 1999, it officially joined ASEAN to become the tenth member country . Cambodia's main industries are agriculture and tourism . The World Heritage Site of Angkor Wat attracts an especially large number of tourists every year.
