Messi will not have to stand trial for tax fraud

Good news for Leo Messi. He has been acquitted by prosecutors and won't have to stand for trial for tax fraud in the management of his image rights. The case began two years ago and has been a problem for the Argentine. However, now the tax office can still send Messi on court.
On the other hand, the footballer's father, Jorge Messi, is the focus of accusations of prosecutors, who asked for 18 months in prison and a fine of €2 million. It was reported the taxman has apparently been defrauded out of over €4 million.
The Barcelona forward seemed set to stand trial for the allegations after a local court rejected appeals made by the footballer’s lawyers earlier this year. It was claimed then there was evidence that Lionel had benefited, whether knowingly or not, after defrauding the taxman out of the aforementioned sum
