Looking ahead, October is devoted to Economic and Community Development. Find out more about this Area of Focus here. This month we have three brief, but important, updates for you, as well as all of the usual statistics we always provide.
IMPORANT UPDATES
1. TRF Centennial book: From Rotary’s battle against the poliovirus to establishing the Rotary Peace Centers, The Rotary Foundation has a rich history. Doing Good in the World: The inspiring story of the Foundation’s First 100 Years tells the fascinating story of this 100-year journey and the people who made it happen. The book makes a great gift or recognition item and can be purchased online.
2. DGE phone calls: Later this month, we will start setting up phone call appointments with all of our DGEs. The purpose of the phone call is to get to know each other and pass along some helpful information. Further details will follow shortly!
3. COL change regarding meeting frequency: Each month we’re featuring one of the changes made at the 2016 COL, and this time we’re highlighting one of the biggest. In order to give clubs the flexibility to determine the most effective meeting frequency, the COL added language which allows clubs to override the requirement to meet once each week. In order to take advantage of this flexibility, clubs must update their bylaws to include the new meeting schedule. In addition, all clubs are still required to meet at least twice per month. If you have any question about this or other COL changes, please feel free to contact us.
