All the coatings dried rapidly after application and resulted
in an improvement in the fruit appearance. They dried quickly
after application on the fruit. The coatings were effective at different
levels on external colour change of the mangoes under
ambient conditions (colour change during ripening for this variety
of mango is from green to yellow). The skin and flesh colour
values a* and b* of treated fruit were less than for non-treated
fruit. The order of efficacy was as follows: Xedabio < TFC150,
TFC210 < Xedasol M23, 2% Bioxeda < control (no treatment).
This effect was clearly expressed by the L*, a* and b* coordinates
being lowest on the skins of mangos treated with Xedabio
(58.14,−16.98 and 39.63, respectively). This explains the external
green-yellow colour of these fruit (Table 1). The internal
