ACT was effective for patients with chronic pain accep- tance, but not pain severity. ACT, IPT-P, MI with CBT, and ICBT showed effectiveness for reducing depression symptoms in four out of the five studies involving pa- tients with depression. MORE, ICBT, CBT combined with mindfulness and MI, and CBT combined with MI were helpful interventions studied in patients with SUD. In- tegrated therapy compared to single focused therapy for patients with depression and SUD was shown to be supe- rior for number of drinking days and level of dependence, supporting the assumption that tailored behavioral inter- ventions can be effective for a combination of conditions. None of the studies compared individual treatment deliv- ery with group-delivered treatment.
