The CP, ADF and NDF content of M. oleifera leaves determined in this study is lower than the values reported by Moyo et al. (2011) and Kakengi et al. (2003). The variation could be attributed to differences in agro-climatic conditions or stage of maturity of the leaves at harvest. Nevertheless, the values obtained in this study confirm that while MOLM may contain moderate to high levels of protein, the fibre content is high and may negatively impact on its utility as an alternative feed resource for the simple-stomached avian species.
