Hold a summit. As a follow up to a recent employee perception survey, a “Safety Summit” was convened. A cross-functional group of employees and management met off-site to discuss the top three issues from the survey. The summit was kicked off by a member of senior management. Participants were then asked to list what was working in each of the three areas of concern. Then they listed opportunities for improvement and specific actions to drive change. Employee representatives and supervision presented a summary of the summit results and action items to the Executive Steering Committee for approval and support.
