Analysis of blood revealed a progressive fall in Hct (total
volume of red blood cells) in response to the rise of water F
content, with statistically significant decrease in Hct observed
even in the animals ingested 2 ppm F. The most
pronounced Hct fall (25 %) was revealed in the blood of
rats intoxicated with 20 ppm F (Table 1). These data clearly
show that long-term intoxication of the rats with F induces
the development of anemia
