Conclusions and Future Work
We have proposed a new methodology for reducing the perception gaps of conversational partners by creating virtual humans. We have implemented and investigated that method through a user study integrated into a healthcare course on Dysphagia Management. Results from the user study indicate that this methodology can be used to validate perceptions of conversational partners. In the future, we propose to extend this work by investigating whether the effects of creating virtual humans and validating perceptions of conversational partners helps with in interviewing real patients. For subsequent studies, we intend to enable users to create VHs individually instead of as a group to isolate group effects on the methodology. This will help us identify effects of creating VHs in reducing perception gaps
