The series starts off with an infant Koji (the boy) crash landing on this wondrous planet, and being found by baby Tako (blue cat). After a giant 6 limbed creature breaks through the woods and kills Tako’s mother. The boys are forced to leave her behind and start their life together as brothers.
Fast forward 8-10 years later and we rejoin Koji and Tako now as they discover a robot army being sent to collect all the creatures of the world for an unknown purpose. After finding out about the Robot King, they set off on an adventure to stop him. Along the way they meet Garrik (after saving his family) and Harper (after she joins seeking revenge against the Robot King), and they join the team. The newly formed team, as it stands, is very similar to Guardians of the Galaxy in its character and dynamics, struggling to work as a cohesive unit. The series is really about their journey to defeat the Robot King and the encounters they have along the way, saving villages and creatures from the robot armies wrath. For this type of thing think of Samurai Jack, or Avatar:Last Airbender. The characters they save on their adventure will come back at the end of Season 1 to help fight Jin’s army, to show how much support Koji has gained and how many lives he has touched on his path.
When they finally make it to the Robot King he is revealed to be Koji’s biological brother. He crash landed at the same time as Koji and is on a mission to collect the creatures of the planet so they can be brought back to their home world to be changed into gems (They dont die when they become gems. Similar to a pokemon being inside a pokeball). The gems are implanted in their people to protect them from a deadly virus that all babies are born with on their home world. It is also revealed that he (having the power to transform into the creatures) was the monster in the beginning who killed Tako’s mother. He did it trying to get Koji back, fearing he was in danger, and until he saw him save Garrik’s family, Jin always assumed that Koji had died that day that he failed to save him. Before Koji can decide to join him or not, Tako swoops in to save the group but ends up being captured himself as the rest of the team escapes.
Having never been apart from Tako, and discovering the truth about himself and his brother, Koji spirals downward. He meets with the creature that represents his gem, a giant Lightning Fox, who takes on the role of a mentor for him. After speaking with the fox and searching his own heart, the team confidently ventures to defeat Jin and save Tako and the world. They are successful thanks to the help of the villagers they have saved along the way, and defeat Jin. Before his defeat however, Jin is able to send off a beacon to call for help from his home planet. Jin escapes into the woods, mech suit destroyed, and all alone, awaiting his backup
