35S:SPL10SRDX plants were also affected in the development of cauline leaves. In the wild type, trichome distribution of successive cauline leaves changes with shoot
maturation. Basal (early developed) cauline leaves produce
trichomes on both surfaces, and apical (later developed)
cauline leaves show a lack of trichomes on the adaxial side
( Telfer et al. 1997 ). Additionally, the lamina shape becomes
narrower with shoot maturation ( Tsukaya 1995 ). When the
traits of cauline leaves of the wild-type and 35S:SPL10SRDX
plants were compared in the same position, those of the
35S:SPL10SRDX plants had wider lamina than those of the
wild-type plants (Fig. 3E, F).
