Printing to file
ViewPlus embossers incorporate the Print to File function to serve many purposes. When you print to file, an electronic document is created that shows exactly how the document would look if printed from a ViewPlus embosser. The file will save with an extension “.prn”.
1. Choose Document
Open the Microsoft document that you wish to print to file.
2. Print to File
Bring up the print dialog box by selecting PRINT under the FILE menu. Make sure your View- Plus embosser is selected as the printer. Check the box that says PRINT TO FILE, and then choose OK.
From a Microsoft Word Document: Another dialog box will open up that allows you to browse to where you want the file to be saved.
From Other Microsoft Documents: A dialog box will open asking you to type in the FILE NAME. Type the full path name for where you want the document stored (i.e. C:Documents and SettingsMy DocumentsHomework_3.prn). Be sure to include the extension .prn at the end.
Save the file in a known location, then select OK. Close the document. You can now view the file with the Tiger Designer or Tiger Viewer, or send it as a .prn in an email.
HINT: Give the .prn file the same name as your document for easier locating.
3. View the .prn
Open the Tiger Viewer or Tiger Designer from START menu. Select ALL PROGRAMS , then VIEWPLUS. Then choose Tiger Viewer or Tiger Designer. In the FILE menu, select OPEN. Open your document by navigating to the known location where the .prn was saved.
Once you have the file located and highlighted, choose the OPEN button and your document will appear on the screen as it will be em- bossed. You are now ready to view and edit your .prn
Colored dots represent different dot heights that will be embossed on your ViewPlus embosser.
