The thermal stability of all PVCeESBO samples was studied by TGA, including raw materials (pure ESBO and PVC) and gaskets from commercial lids. Table 3 summarizes the values of the initial degradation temperature (T95%) obtained for all materials. It could be observed that the value of T95% increased with the addition of higher amounts of ESBO to the PVC resin. This was particularly noticeable for the plastisol with 50 wt% ESBO where T95% showed an increase of 9 C when compared to the 40 wt% counterpart. This could be an indication of the incomplete incorporation of ESBO to the PVC matrix at such a high initial concentration and the presence of some excess plasticizer resulting in an increase in the thermal stability.
