high
nutrient removal was observed in G edulis tank followed by U.
lactuca, with nutrient reduction of 75% (F ¼ 263.4, P < 0.01) in
the former species and 45% (F ¼ 53.59, P < 0.01) in the latter
one. Both species had significantly reduced ammonium in the
shrimp wastewater compared to control (P > 0.05). In comparison
to outdoor recirculation system, it demonstrated the
similar trend of removal rate and did not vary significantly for
Gracilaria (F ¼ 1.181, P > 0.05) and Ulva (F ¼ 0.612, P > 0.05).
