Nowadays, the resolution of A/D conversion does not influence significantly to the measurement uncertainty
of the system. High resolution A/D converters with sufficient sample rates are available. Moreover A/D
conversion enables the utilization of digital communication. In case of low level signal, proper shielding of
signal lines from external noise is essential. Furthermore utilization of low noise amplifier is mandatory. In
general, metal enclosures can be used to prevent interference coupling to system. Only possibility to measure
torque is to attach strain gauge elements onto the shaft under measurement. However, due to misalignment of
ordinary strain gauges they cause additional uncertainty. Moreover because of open structure, interference
signal can easily couple to measurement signal.
