Over two years, the occupational health service conducted different intervention methods aimed at creating work environment improvements in three departments. The contact person from the workplace who initiated the idea had an interest in work environment issues, but his employment was terminated shortly after the intervention started. The major activities were as follows: 15 supervisors representing different parts of the workplace participated in work environment education, with meetings every second week. In addition, 11 employees from one department conducted individual function assessments, which resulted in activities during work hours to improve fitness. At another department, all employees participated in the same individual function assessment, and each received individual feedback. At the end of the intervention period, all employees underwent a health examination and received individual feedback. Safety motivation was measured over the course of two years.
