Our previous work has demonstrated the importance of rainfall during cassava growth on
physico-chemical properties of the extracted starch (Sriroth et al., 1999).
The present study confirms our previous observations and further reinforces the importance of rainfall during cassava growth, especially in the early development stage.
Rainfall can either have a direct or indirect influence, expressed by soil temperature, nutrient transportation and availability, air humidity and light intensity, on starch quality.
