The main objective of the present study is to monitor residues
of organochlorine and synthetic pyrethroid pesticides in honey
samples collected from Sharqya, Qalyoubia and Ismailia governorates,
located in the mid and eastern side of the Nile delta, as a
prelude to assess risks related to the consumption of honey. The
lack of information about pesticide residues in honey in Egypt
implies the necessity to determinate the pollution of those bees’
products in the country. The present study has also meant to use
honey as the potential vehicle to map out residues of these pesticides
in the bees ambient environment
