Bothrops jararacussu and Bothrops jararaca venoms induced
hydrolysis of azocasein in aconcentration-dependent way(not
shown). Combretum leprosum extract(0.1–300 μg/mL) decreased,
also in aconcentration-dependent way,the proteolytic activities of
the venoms(10 μg/mL), and the concentration of 300 μg/mL
reduced the venoms’ proteolytic activities down to zero(Fig. 7A).
Arjunolic acid(1–300 μg/mL) also inhibited the hydrolysis of
azocasein by thevenoms.In hibition was about 55% and 60%when
300 μg/mL arjunolic acid was incubated with Bothrops jararacussu
and Bothrops jararaca venoms, respectively(Fig. 7B).
