There are a number of investigations on the use of solar energy to provide heat for the regeneration process of liquid desiccant cooling systems. Katejanekarn and Kumar [3] studied the performance of a solar–regenerated liquid desiccant ventilation preconditioning system. Alizadeh [4] developed a solar liquid desiccant air-conditioner (LDAC) using a polymer plate heat exchanger (PPHE) as dehumidifier while packed-bed conditions column was used as regenerator with 20 m2 of flat plate solar collector.
