It is business as usual for airports and airlines operating in Thailand, all of which are running normally in the wake of Thursday's military coup.
Thai airports including the six main ones run by Airports of Thailand Plc (AoT) are in service .Flights operated by major carriers such as Thai Airways International, Thai AirAsia and Bangkok Airways are also running as usual.
But airlines are advising passengers departing from Bangkok to allow at least three hours travel time to the airports and stay tuned to traffic news to ensure they do not miss their flights.
The nationwide curfew of 10pm-5am does not apply if travelling to or from an airport. Travellers should have passports and tickets with them when travelling to and from the airport during curfew hours, as they may be checked at road checkpoints.
The AoT said pick-up and drop-off vehicles must obtain a document from the Suvarnabhumi airport information counters, located at entrances three and five of the departure hall (4th floor) or entrance threeof the arrivals hall (2nd floor), to verify they visited the airport during the curfew hours.
Passengers unable to find transport out of Suvarnabhumi during curfew hours may use the facilities available at CIP Lounges 1-4, located on the 3rd floor of the passenger terminal.
The shuttle bus service between Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports is operating as usual.
THAI said its staff stood ready to provide assistance to passengers under the current situation.
