The steam used for electricity production from the
steam generators in power stations presents low enthalpy
for extended heating systems, if it comes from a dedicated
electricity production plant [23]. But even then, the existing
low enthalpy in the steam can be utilised for small
scale domestic / residential type heating [23]. A fast approximation
of the quantities of thermal energy that can
be utilised, based on the plant sizes proposed by Psomopoulos
and Themelis in [11], and considering the data
from typical power plants using fossil fuels [23] for steam
generators, is summarised in Table 2.
