The data collected in this study seem to indicate that children who are intrinsically
motivated to seek information show an affinity for play, have supportive anchor relationships,
have had a point-of-passion experience, and have benefited from relational aspects of
information seeking episodes. However, the research also shows that they may or may not
come from affluent homes and that they may or may not show competencies typical of the
