Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of globalization and
decentralization of education on preparing Thai secondary students for civic
participation. The study addresses three main research questions. First, how does
globalization affect the state's decision in reforming its education? Second, how does
globalization and decentralization of education affect students' learning of civic
participation between rural and urban contexts? Third, what implications does Thai
education reform of decentralization have in democratizing Thailand?
