The results for spiritual well-being and its subscales were generally high for both first and
fourth year students (Table 1). Of a possibletotal score of 120, the mean was 108.7 for first
year students and 105.2 for fourth year students. The mean for the religious sub-scale was 56 for first year students and 55.5 for fourth year students. The mean for the existential sub-scale was 52.7 for first year students and 50 for fourth year students. While it may appear that fourth year students scored slightly lower, the smaller sample size makes it difficult to determine if this is a significant difference.
