The study was conducted in July 2006 at the Research and Application Land, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Akdeniz, Antalya, Turkey. The soil composed of 41% sand, 26% silt, and 33% clay, was classified as clay-loam, and residue from the previous wheat crop was on the soil. The wheat was harvested by a combine harvester leaving relatively uniform stubble. The average residue mass before the sowing operation was 2.8 t ha1 . Moisture content of the soil for the top 50 mmbefore sowingwas 22.1% dry basis.Maize (Zeamays L.) seedwith ameanmass per seed of 235 mg and soybean (Glycine max L.) seedwith ameanmass per seed of 212 mgwere used for all treatments.
