A positive relationship between survival, weight and length of Artemia, and the
concentration of nutrients in the microalgal cultures was found for the range of 0.5 mg
atom N 1-t to 8 mg atom N l- * (Table 1). Reproductive features such as percentage of
gravid females, percentage of Artemia that reached maturity during the period studied
and the total number of nauplii produced per spawning and per litre of culture, were also
positively correlated with the nutrient concentration within this range. Regression
analysis of survival, weight and length demonstrated that the increase was linear
( r2 > 0.9) between these two concentrations_
